The goal of The Valley School Athletic Department?s organized sports program is to create an atmosphere that is both satisfying and rewarding, while providing the opportunity for student athletes to develop knowledge, skill and positive attitudes so that they may become productive, contributing citizens of our community and society.? In order to enhance and support these basic principles, the Athletic Department will develop programs which will teach positive lessons of sportsmanship, respect for one?s opponent, respect for the rules, and the ability to win and lose with grace. We will instill perseverance, self-discipline, self-reliance and self-confidence in our student athletes. Each student athlete will learn the importance of teamwork, team discipline, competing and the joy of competition for its own sake.?? Athletic competition adds to school spirit and helps students, spectators, and participants develop pride in their school.? The Valley School does not have tryout as we accept all students to any team they want to join.? We encourage all students to get involved, whether through a team or as a spectator.
The Valley School also promotes exercise and fitness through physical education classes held daily for each grade. ?The Valley School is proud to a part of the Presidential Physical Fitness Challenge where awards are given annually to all students who complete the necessary requirements.
