SUMMER READING ASSIGNMENTS
Research indicates that students must read over the summer to maintain literary skills and progress gleaned from the preceding academic year. Each summer, students of The Valley Schools in grades 4-8 are required to read at least one mandatory book. The titles and authors of the mandatory books and their respective grade levels are listed in the letter below.
Summer reading is not an optional assignment. Students will be tested on their respective books during the first week of school. These tests will count as grades for the first marking period.
